Steeple Cast helps you stream your own services to your own YouTube channel. Your content stays yours. We do not review it, claim it, or sell anything about it. The software is provided as it is, and a live service is your responsibility, not ours.
They are between you, or the church or organisation you act for, and McNeil Enterprises, Inc. Using the Steeple Cast app or the web dashboard means you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a church, you confirm you are allowed to do so.
You need your own YouTube channel, enabled for live streaming, and the hardware described on the home page. You are responsible for your Google account, your channel, and anyone you give access to your dashboard.
Everything you stream, record, upload or display through Steeple Cast belongs to you. We claim no rights over it. We do not watch it, store copies of it on our servers, or use it to train anything. Video goes from your iPad straight to YouTube; it does not pass through us.
You are responsible for having the right to stream what you stream. That includes music licensing, which for most churches means a streaming licence from CCLI or a similar body, and the permission of people who appear on camera.
When you connect YouTube, you grant Steeple Cast permission to manage live broadcasts on your channel on your behalf: creating a broadcast for a service, setting its title, description, privacy and thumbnail, and uploading a recording when you ask it to. We use that permission for nothing else. You can disconnect at any time from the dashboard's Account tab, or revoke it in your Google account settings.
Steeple Cast is provided "as is". Live streaming depends on your network, your hardware, Apple's software, and YouTube, none of which we control. We do not warrant that a stream will start, stay up, or look a particular way, and we are not liable for a service that fails to reach the internet.
That is not a shrug. The app is built to fail safely, records a local backup while it streams, and warns you when the network cannot keep up. But a Sunday morning has one chance to go right, and you should have a plan that does not depend on us.
Do not use Steeple Cast to stream content you do not have the right to, to harass or endanger anyone, or to break the law or YouTube's own terms. Do not attempt to access another church's data, disrupt the service for others, or reverse engineer the software beyond what the law permits.
The dashboard is a hosted service and may occasionally be unavailable. The app is designed so that a dashboard outage does not stop you streaming: it keeps the last settings it was given and tells you it is using them. We may change or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice of anything that would stop you streaming.
Steeple Cast is currently free to use. If that ever changes, existing users will be told in advance and will not be charged without agreeing first.
You can stop using Steeple Cast whenever you like, disconnect YouTube, and delete your dashboard account by asking us. We may suspend an account that breaks section 6.
To the extent the law allows, McNeil Enterprises, Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Steeple Cast, and our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us for it, which at present is nothing. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States.
If we change them materially, we will update the date at the top and say so on the dashboard. Continuing to use Steeple Cast after that means you accept the new version.
